So again I decided to go on a walk, this time around Coniston. Took the Canon 700d and a 55-250 zoom lens.
Here’s just a bit of what I captured!

So last night I got to see a band I’ve liked for a while now: Iceage. The Danish punks were playing at Manchester’s Night & Day Café and they blew it away.
New songs coupled with fan faves made sure the group kept us entertained, and they managed that with aplomb. I managed to talk to the band afterwards and they said they enjoyed it as much as us. Apparently the last time they were in the UK they’d performed to basically an empty room so for them to sell out was a fantastic achievement and shows they’ve built up a much stronger fanbase.
I’m incredibly glad I finally got to see them, and can only hope that I get to see them again sometime soon!
Following on from Jamie xx’s album announcement, he’s shared this new song!
It’s a stunning track, blending Romy’s lovely vocals with almost a party vibe including crowd noise and a backing vocal line that is just something else. It’s just gorgeous to listen to. I know it’s still early, but this could be the song of the year, and definitely one of the songs of the summer. For me at least!
So I’ve finally got myself an iPhone. I know, it took me long enough.
The reason behind it was just the fact that my Samsung had basically packed it in. And also better synchronisation across my devices: Is it so bad to not want to email yourself your calendar?!
But apart from the ease of use for me, I’ve noticed one other major thing. The camera is really very good.
Now, obviously it’s not going to be as good as a top top class professional DSLR, but for the purposes of every day use it’s remarkable.
Here’s a couple of photos I’ve taken:
As you might be aware, I’m the features editor over at Hooting and Howling magazine. This week the role led me to an interview with up and coming star Kali Uchis. She’s already got the attention of Snoop Dogg and Tyler, The Creator, so it’s about time she got your attention too.
You can read my interview with Kali here:
Seeing as this is my first post I should probably tell you what I’m up to.
So, first of all, this 2014-15 football season I have been working on a freelance basis for ADI.tv. In this role I have been operating as a graphics operator for Premier League clubs. Specifically Sunderland. In this role I am required to provide team sheets, in game adverts, and substitute slides, all overseen by a director. In addition to this I am in charge of making sure that pre game videos are all set up correctly and are appropriate to the game.
In addition to working for ADI, I am the current Features Editor at Hooting and Howling magazine. This role includes talking to bands and PR representatives, writing articles (occasionally) and deciding what to include on the website on a week by week basis.
I’m also trying to keep up with filming the fantastic Salford City FC, and I’m always looking for filming opportunities, so if you need anything contact me!
